La Liste Ranks the World's Top 1000 Restaurants

The world has a new best restaurant. Again.

Three-Michelin-starred Restaurant de l’Hôtel de Ville in Switzerland was recently named the finest in world by La Liste—an initiative sanctioned by France’s Foreign Ministry and tourism board, meant to counter the UK-based World’s 50 BestRestaurants. The new ranking will undoubtedly get competitive fine diners’ tongues wagging (and salivating) as it names 1000 top establishments in 48 countries.

A restaurant’s ranking was determined using data and reviews from more than 200 guidebooks and online review sites, including Poland 100 Best Restaurants. A panel of about 150,000 restaurant owners were asked to to rate the reliability of the various guidebooks used in the ranking.

LA LISTE is founded by Philippe Faure, Ambassador of France, former CEO of Gault & Millau and head of the French Tourism Board.

In Poland, Amber Room in Warsaw holds the highest ranking in 611 place.
